Update: Eyeglasses for Haiti

Update from the field: WMF Scholar, Ralf Etienne’s return trip to Haiti has been extremely successful. On the morning of June 7th, Eyeglasses for Haiti was able to provide quality eye care and prescription glasses to 70 patients! At the time of his update, Ralf stated that there were 60+ patients anxiously awaiting their turn to see the volunteer ophthalmologist in the afternoon. Ralf’s vision to provide eyeglasses and eye care to others is creating endless joy and increased opportunities for students to learn to read, for grandmothers to clearly see their grandchildren for the first time, and economic opportunity for those who were once disabled by their poor sight. Ralf would like to thank all individuals who donated, volunteers, and doctors who assisted on the first Eyeglasses for Haiti trip!
