V2V Student & WMF Scholar Interns With Ugandan Parliament

Deborah Akello, Village2Village sponsored student, WMF Scholar and Christian University Law School Student is proudly dressed to beginning her summer internship with the Ugandan Parliament. Congratulations Deborah! Deborah preformed exceptionally well with her studies and is ranked #1 out of 105 follow classmates.

She is active as the Publicity Secretary for International Justices Mission University Chapter and as the Legal Officer for the Human Rights Association of the Uganda Christian University. As a Legal Officer she has volunteered with the Foundation for Human Rights Initiative Uganda by educating the public of their rights, teaching individuals how to write wills and educating prison populations of their rights as prisoners and directing them to resources for finding legal aid. Deborah is well on her way to becoming a leading female lawyer in Uganda!
