Dear Wells Mountain Foundation Board, Supporters, Scholars and Community Members,
It is a great honor to have the opportunity to begin working with all of you. As some of you may know, Ann Nottingham has retired from WMF and will be enjoying lots of time with her family. My name is Nicole Baker and I will be WMF Scholars’ primary contact at WMF. I am looking forward to assisting with the growth of the organization and increasing community awareness and engagement of the multitude of projects WMF supports in Vermont and throughout the world.
One of the many programs that I will be supporting is the Empowerment Through Education Scholarship Program. I have had the opportunity to get to know many of the current WMF Scholars through reading their applications, blog posts and semester reports. I am amazed by all of the good they are doing in their communities worldwide. The future is in good hands through the commitment they show to improving the lives of others and their own through their university studies.
My path to WMF has had me cross through many borders. I am a recent Champlain College graduate of International Business and am eager to continue working with people from around the world. I have been very fortunate to receive the support of many people and organizations through scholarships to pursue my own education in the United States and abroad. I have lived and studied in Poland, Scotland and Costa Rica. I have also traveled to Bagamoyo, Tanzania as a volunteer in 2010. I believe in working hard, creating goals, making time to serve others and always remembering the value of a smile.
I look forward to working with all of you, becoming a member of the WMF Family and listening to your suggestions to aid in the development of WMF.

In a very special way, I want to welcome you in your new duty as the New Scholarship Program Manager. I know that task is not going to be easy but we trust in your ability to achieving your set agenda.
I would like to bring something to your attention, WMF has got lots to do especially for the developing nations. My country, Liberia, there are lot of youths and women whose dreams are gradually fading away as the result of abject poverty and suffering that is thorn in flesh. I hope that you will see reason to concentrate on developing nations as you concentrate on developed nations.
I wish you all the best on your journey as New Scholarship Program Manager.
From T. Kudah Jairus, Monrovia – Liberia
