Catherine Nagadya, a Wells Mountain Foundation Scholar studying Medicine and Surgery at Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda wrote to us today with the following update.
Today, I was on ward managing a child who came in with febrile convulsions,
my heart was rushing and I saved the girl, the terrified parents cried with joy
and I cried too remembering how fortunate I am to be what I am. Thank you for
making this happen, you empower me to get closer to my dream. Thank you so much.

We believe that this is just the start of an amazing future for Catherine. Her intense work and study ethic and true desire to care for others will enable her to touch and save many more lives in Uganda.
Catherine recently completed volunteer work as a teacher of Gross Anatomy to first year nursing students at the Mayanja Memorial Medical Training Institute, participated in two outreach programs with the Rotaract Club of Mbarara in the Nalivaale Refugee Camp as a member of the medical team and she found time to volunteer at the Entebbe General Hospital within the Pediatrics and Maternity wards.
