Gladis Abigail Oseguera a 2012 WMF Scholar from Honduras shared her May 2013 photos with us! Gladis is a proud graduate of Bergen Community College with an Associates Degree in Engineering Science! Upon graduating Gladis shared the following message with us for all WMF supporters: “I would like to thank you for your support and for all you do to help people like me! God bless you!” She plans to continue studying and earn a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering.
Gladis recalls the following: My family, in Honduras, was going through financial hardship. Thanks to the WMF Scholarship I received, I was able to continue my studies at Bergen Community College. I was very surprised when I was notified I was being awarded it. When I looked at the list of scholars, I noticed I was the only Hispanic person. I was really proud of that, and it meant one more reason to thank God for opportunities such as these.
And to prospective supporters of WMF: I would like to thank him/her in the first place for considering it. They will definitely impact the lives of many students, who like me, wish to accomplish their goals, but are many times at risk of not doing so because of financial issues. Their donation will be a blessing to someone, and I’m sure that in the future, when that “someone succeeds”, they’ll know that they were part of the success too!
