Hello every one, my name Priscilla Chiwanza and I am from Zimbabwe but I am currently studying in the USA pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Accounting.I am really grateful to be a WMF scholar,what a priviledge! I did not think I would even be able to attend school this semester but I am grateful, I got timely financial assistance from the Wells Mountain Foundation.Recently I attended a leadership weekend from the 21st of October to the 23rd of October. I learnt that in order to be a good leader, you must learn to follow first. Good leadership qualities are honesty, consistency and integrity in every thing that one does. Through the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, I did a presentation in one of the classes in which I am a peer mentor. The presentation was entitled “Commit to Complete”. This is an initiative to encourage students to complete their Associate Degrees. I shared my story of how I have been successful as a student so far. I encouraged students to take hold of the opportunity they have to get an education because many people in different parts of the world wish they could get an education but because of circumstances beyond their control they are unable to do so. The response from the students was tremendous as many vowed to complete their degrees and encourage others to do the same. We had our International Education week last week and It was amazing to share in different customs and cultures from around the world!
