September 2008 – Began a book drive for Haiti to help stock English language libraries in three Haitian YMCA’s.
 
October 2008 – With the help of over 25 teen and adult volunteers, we collected, sorted, boxed and shipped 10,000 books to the YMCA libraries in Haiti.
 
December 2008 – Via our Book Angel program, WMF volunteers selected, wrapped and delivered over 400 books to economically-challenged children in Addison County, Vermont.
 
December 2008 – WMF received a $1000 grant from the International Paper Foundation for our Book Angel program.
 
December 2008 – WMF received an $11,000 grant from the International Foundation for our Empowerment Through Education Program (our scholarship program)
 
January 2009 – WMF assumes responsibility to fund the Imagination Library Program in the five town area of Bristol, Lincoln, New Haven, Monkton and Starksboro, Vermont
 
January 2009 – Carol and Tom Wells traveled to Haiti to open a new YMCA branch in Kenscoff, Haiti called the Wells Mountain Center.  This new YMCA includes an English library and received some of those 10,000 books collected in the fall of 2008.

    It’s me Iddrisu, my vacation was very wonderful. Apart from the vacation classes I organise for Senior High school students in my community, I also helped a new Foundation called Lulu foundation operating in Tamale to distribute food to street children and foster homes. I will like to send a video of that to the WMF as soon as possible.
