Highlights of future actions the WMF Kenya Fellowship participants agreed upon this past Saturday:
– “It was agreed that as young people, we were going to make a challenge to work together towards making a difference in our society. The short term goal was to mentor and motivate young people who are struggling through life and show them that there is actually still a bright future for them. We will majorly focus on those who did not make it to university, and try to show them that that is not the end of the road.”
-“Also as Peter suggested, that most of the physically challenged students face a lot of discrimination and segregation based on their disability. Our aim is to visit some of these students and give them hope that they can still make it despite all the challenges they face. It was agreed that it was not a must for us to give handouts such as money and food to help the less fortunate. Majority of them just need a little encouragement and hope. This is what we will do.”
