Update on Applications for Scholars

We have received nearly 1,000 applications for scholarships for 2012/2013, which we are still in the process of acknowledging. Please be patient if you sent your application in by email and still have not heard from us that it was received, especially if your application was sent after March 29th. As you may know our email system was overloaded and shut down on the 30th.  We opened a new, bigger account and extended the deadline to April 5, to accommodate people who were unable to successfully send on March 30 and April 1. (The address remains the same, as the mail is now routed to our expanded account.) All deadlines are past now and we are accepting NO NEW APPLICATIONS.  Those still interested can apply for the next year, 2013-2014, but should wait until November 2012 or later, and carefully read the web page before applying, in case there are changes in the application form or requirements.

We remind you that we do not accept incomplete applications. Those from students wishing to pursue courses beyond a  first Bachelor’s Degree or who want to study in the US, UK, Canada, Europe, and other developed countries are also not eligible.

Our board of directors will begin reviewing applications soon  and will choose the new scholars in August. We will post the names of scholarship recipients on our web site, old.wellsmountain.com, and will contact them directly. If your email address should change or you receive funding from another source, please contact us immediately. Unfortunately, the number of applicants has become so large that we cannot respond individually to each one. If you do not hear from us and your name is not listed on the website, you have not been selected.

For the academic year of 2011-2012, we received nearly 1,000 applications and were able to award only 27 scholarships.  We expect to award only 10-12 scholarships this year and we know the competition will be keen and the selection process difficult.  It’s unfortunate that we have to turn down so many worthy applicants. We raise funds each year and spend all we have. Our applicant pool gets bigger, but our funds do not.

Anyone reading this who would like to contribute to our scholarship fund can send a donation to WMF at 25D Main St., Bristol, VT  05443, USA.

Thank you Wells Mountain Foundation for the good things you are doing in developing countries. I pray that you get more donations from people and organisations who have something in their hands to sustain this programme.

This programme will not only develop students in the developing countries only, but their communities as well.

    Good Luck to all applicants

I appreciate your effort for sponsoring needy students. Even if you could manage to sponsor only one student, it could still be great since you shall have helped a soul towards achieving their goals. Please keep on doing so. Be blessed WMF

Greetings from Kenya and Kudos Wells mountain foundation and may God’s blessings continue to pour unto you for the noble and charity work you do which positively impacts lives across the world.
I know it hurts you when you are unable to fund a big number but please note that even a single candidate sponsored is worthy. I applied for the funding to commence my studies coming September and am praying for my dream to come true because I believe it’s possible. From Kenya I wish you all the best in your work.

The email address is on the front page of the application form. If you are considering applying, please wait until November, when changes will be made to the form and requirements. We do prefer posted applications, since printing them out to disperse to readers is so time consuming. Also, computer program incompatabilities and scanning errors (among other errors) can make it impossible to get readable prints. Especially last-minute entries, may have problems that can’t be fixed in time.

Companies and Millionaires with a heart for social Responsibility should consider supporting this noble cause of Wells Mountain Foundation. I wish i had the resources, i would immediately support such a cause, unfortunately i need help myself. May God turn the hearts of those who can do something to let them contribute into the Wells Mountain Foundation efforts and actions to help us the needy and uplift the world. With education the world will achieve a better peace than now.

It is really a great thing that you are doing. What excites me is the way you really feel about Africa. Imagine what a big future you are making to give everybody a chance to get a qualification. Our communities need people who can bring new ideas to do things right. I am happy that I am representing needy students in Bukedea in Uganda and it is a suprise to let Well Mountain Foundation know that it is quite difficult for a student from a poor family to access internet to get scholarship and this has made many students not join University or college. This is why really need your help. May God multiply your resources beyond your expectations to meet the needs of students who need scholarship to study. I wish you the best always. Great work you do. May God reward you abundantly.
