First and foremost,it’s my pleasure to pass regards to the entire team at wells saying thanks to the almighty God for having guided us to the new year 2012 and happy new year too.Greetings to you from South Sudan where i have been volunteering during the short brake.Secondly,to all my colleagues in the wells family i would like to as well take this opportunity to say a happy and prosperous new year to you all and to all friends and well wishers happy new year.
I was volunteering in kajo-keji county, central equatoria state,Southern Sudan. We youth of the county through our voluntary body the kajo-keji youth volunteers association vowed to create/promote unity, harmony and peaceful co-existence among citizens / public of the county and neighbors for the society’s well being as well as creating awareness on HIV/AIDS through games and sports activities such as football, netball, volleyball and dramas, all these activities were aimed at keeping the youth busy over the festive season to avoid indulgence in crimes that could have risen due to idleness and as well entertain them and the public at large.
It was very interesting sharing ideas, experiences and expectations with various youth and elders who expressed their concern in the importance to have such activities during such crucial time as they learn more from it.One of the youth Mr Loding Patrick a senior three student was quoted saying, “we felt the true spirit of togetherness as youth of the county and South Sudan at large as the activities went on”.The general public expressed great joy over the activities as one of the elders Mr Elias Abunya said,”development is achieved when we are peaceful, united and in harmony”therefore it was brilliant for the youth to sensitize us about that.
Besides the above program,i didn’t forget my students in Comboni college-Lomin where i was volunteering before i came to school.I met many of them who were interested in learning and requested for my help to keep them busy over their holiday.I helped in coaching them, discussing questions and answer approach to past papers and it was marvelous sharing with them as they learn from me and i get ideas from them too.
Finally,Volunteering is very essential in our societies. It was wonderful and momentous time meeting and sharing with distinguished people during my short holiday. All in all, volunteer activities brings togetherness hence sharing of ideas, peace leading to development and therefore,i love volunteering and we should all volunteer to uplift the standards or help the needy in our various countries and the world at large.
Thank you so much,
Kajokaya Charles Daniel.

You have really and truly inspired me in your volunteer work,at the same juncture,it goes without saying that success is not the key to happiness, but happiness is the key to success. thumbs up for you and everyone out there who, not only has a passion in community work, but also volunteers to render his/her services to the community around. in other words, its giving back to society. Its my greatest hope that i will be among the lucky ones when the board will complete the 2012/2013 selection. I will be grateful to help the society inline with the realization of Millennium Development Goals. Thank you.
thanks to all the WMF family i have been inspired by your work and with that inspiration i confess to put up more in volunteering to help the disadvantaged group in my community as we were doing under scripture union Gulu High School.
You highlight one of the best feeutras of volunteering in that a volunteer opportunity that provides an opportunity for personal growth and a chance to try something new (and sometimes scary) is one of the best advertisements for volunteering. The risks aren’t nearly as high as taking a job that you think you might’ like, and finding out that you hate it. Volunteering provides a chance to test the waters before making a long term commitment. Don’t you wish we could do that with a job??
KHASIM MARAKA,
Today I sit in a very small Vermont Village- in the United States reading your comments and it reaffirms to me that those that look towards bigger goals make a bigger difference. To , in a positive way, put the bigger community above oneself not only benefits the bigger plan but has inspired me today. In reading this I also have a feeling that even from my place in this small community I am connected to a much bigger world and begs the question “what will I do here today having been inspired by you?”.
Many thanks,
Reed A Prescott III
I have enjoyed ging through the work of WELLS MOUNTAIN FOUNDATION, its my prayer that this time the selection team will choose atleast one from my lovely and friendly conutry ZAMBIA. iam a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Student ,who is having problems in meeting all school requirements. This midsemister break am busy volunteering tracing TB patients who have defaulted treatments and also link them for possible HIV /AIDS counselling, testing and care. Continue volunteering it is a gift from GOD JEHOVA, my self i always thank JEHOVA for giving this opportunity of belonging to this noble career (profession),because the nature of work involved needs dedication, passion, cmpassionate and sacrificing. WAITING FOR 2012/2013 RESULTS. Iam very opportunistics to represent my country because we are the 2012 AFCON CHAMPION ,WHY NOT ME? IF OTHERS CAN DO ITWH I MAY NOT TO REPRESENT MY COUNTRY.I PROMISE T USE TAX PAYERS MONEY EFFECTIVELY SO THAT IN THE NEAR FUTURE I CAN DONATE SOMETHING TO WELLS MUNTAIN FOUNDATION (REVOLVING FUND/ASSISTANCE). ENJOY.
Or Daniel its always an obedient person who has a story to tell, you accepting to go to kajo kaya makes us a family when we share your experience. i can also tell your story to someone even before i go to Sudan. meanwhile given the current level of experience needed in different carrier paths, volunteering puts you to an added advantage, to fellow students out there we need to volunteer as it helps us gain prominent experience that one can never get when only sited at home in holidays, it also eliminates idol minds which are devils workshops. Remember we need to be perfect in atleast one aspect and this may not necessarily be your educational profession because many are in school and so you need to have some thing unique from all those who have the same level of education like yours. you can get this through a voluntary service you render. i comfirm maximum gratitude to THE WELLS MOUNTAIN FOUNDATION.thanx.
