Hello WMF family. My name is Collins Kivumbi. I am one of the blessed scholars of the magnificent wmf family. I am studying NGO management and Social works here in Uganda. During my first semester,i have learnt about the legal aspects of NGOs and law of social work,Change management,Sexual reproductive health and sustainable development and NGO and CSO management principles. As a result from the context of these modules,i most importantly learnt the formation of an NGO and having come together with one of my lecturers we have incorporated a nonprofit called Philanthropy Organisation Uganda. Our mission is to enable the extended family of community-based organisations focus,adapt better and enhance the gift benefits to effectively promote and advance the interests and well-being of the needy peoples and places of Uganda.

Philanthropy Uganda will work to expand the base of charitable giving in support of deserving community-based organisations, A community-based organisation’s ability to maximise the impact of the charitable gifts it receives is an important part of the decision to support that organisation.

I have volunteered to collect data for the Africa Social Development and Health Initiatives for seven days. The baseline survey was to understand key health,education and income generation needs and potential opportunities for change among the supported and nonsupported families in its programme areas. I have pictures taken during the interview sessions i made. This helped me to identify rural community problems in accordance to family structure,age,,sex and anticipated interventions to enhance education,health and income generation.

Philanthropy Uganda’s aim is to select CBOs that most efficiently utilize gifts in a manner that maximizes the organization’s impact. Philanthropy Uganda combines this efficiency analysis with qualitative review of organizational accountability, operational and reporting standards, historical support and effectiveness.making grants to CBOs that not only meet financial efficiency standards, but provide the public with an open reporting of its activities guided by honest solicitation practices , ethical conduct and a strong set of policies and practices for reporting operations and management of donor information. We also seek to evaluate an organization’s commitment to and practices regarding the effectiveness of its programs and activities.
How we will secure funds?- we will reach out to donor agencies, corporations and partner with other nonprofits.
